High School Teacher in Woodworking Trades

We are seeking to hire a teacher in woodworking trades at Fjölbrautaskóli Suðurnesja, for a full-time position. The employment period is from January 1, 2027, and salary is in accordance with the current collective agreement made by the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the Icelandic Teachers' Union, with further details in the school's institutional agreement. Main tasks and responsibilities The teacher in the relevant subject teaches and prepares lessons, and assesses learning in their teaching subject according to the objectives of the main and school curricula. Creates a study plan, maintains their professional competence, and considers connections with other subjects. Participates in consultations regarding their work, is responsible for general information dissemination, attends teacher meetings, and performs other duties assigned to them that are compatible with current collective agreements, laws, and regulations. Requirements The applicant meets the requirements for education and competence according to law no. 95/2019. Teaching qualifications at the upper secondary level and education in the relevant field, carpentry. Teaching experience and/or experience in the trade is desirable. Professional ambition, initiative, diligent work practices, and a positive attitude. Very good communication skills, strong willingness to cooperate, and the individual must fit in with the existing staff at the school. Salary Salary according to the current collective agreement made by the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the Icelandic Teachers' Union.
