On-Site Engineering Manager
Verne Global is seeking to hire an experienced On-Site Engineering Manager to oversee the project management of Verne's extensive and rapid data center construction, working under a "FIDIC Yellow Book" design and build contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the design, technical deliverables, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover of the data center align with project requirements and objectives, client standards, and legal obligations. This is a key role emphasizing technical quality, coordination of complex work elements, and successful delivery of a high-performance data center facility. Key tasks and responsibilities: - Overall supervision of project execution on-site and coordination of technical work across disciplines. - Management and review of contractor data, design data, technical documents, inquiries, and other design changes. - Coordination of multidisciplinary teams in mechanical and electrical work, structural engineering, fire protection, control and security systems, IT systems, and in relation to testing and commissioning. - Support for procurement, supplier evaluation, FAT/SAT testing, and handover of long-lead equipment. - Communication with contractors, consultants, authorities, operations teams, client representatives, and other stakeholders. - Ensuring quality document management, BIM coordination, change management, and engineering control. - Oversight of risk, coordination, commissioning preparation, and handover conditions. Education and qualification requirements: - Experience with similar projects related to data center construction, operationally critical facilities, or other complex MEP construction. - Good knowledge of design-build projects and FIDIC contracts. - Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. - Good knowledge and understanding of commissioning, operational readiness, BIM coordination, and quality control. - Leadership skills along with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - Initiative, independence, and organized work practices.
