Physician interested in research medicine and transfusion medicine

We are seeking physicians interested in specialized training in research medicine and transfusion medicine. The position is full-time (100%) and the start date is by agreement. The position is temporary for 6-12 months or by further agreement within the specialized fields of research medicine and the Blood Bank. This is typically daytime work without shifts. Applicants choose their specialization and express preferences regarding participation in the activities of other specialized fields, where the applicant would undertake at least 3-month blocks within the chosen specializations. The specialized fields concerned are microbiology and virology, genetics and molecular medicine, transfusion medicine, immunology, pathology, clinical biochemistry, and hematology. Experienced specialists and other physicians work in research medicine within a multidisciplinary team and in close cooperation with other professional groups. Emphasis is placed on good service, active teamwork, and continuous improvement for the benefit of patients. We welcome new colleagues and provide good onboarding. Specialized training in research medicine is in preparation at Landspítali but has not yet commenced.
