Postdoctoral Researcher in Genome Stability and Cancer
A full-time postdoctoral position is open for research on the role of MITF in maintaining genome stability, with a focus on DNA replication and DNA repair. The project is funded for three years by the Icelandic Research Fund (Rannís) and will be conducted at the Life Science Center within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Iceland. The project utilizes a variety of modern methods, including cancer cell culture, gene editing with CRISPR-Cas9, measurements of DNA damage and replication stress (e.g., DNA fiber assays and 53BP1 foci), protein and DNA binding analyses (e.g., CUT&RUN), as well as other molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology methods. Stefán Sigurðsson, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Iceland, will be the supervisor for the project.
