Then you could be the next Sector Officer – Civil Society at the office of the EEA and Norway Grants (EFTA Financial Mechanism Office) in Brussels. The position is at the heart of the activities of civil society organizations and citizen participation in Europe; and involves project management, stakeholder engagement, and policy development in relation to democracy and human rights. The role requires direct communication with European Union institutions, the beneficiary states of the EEA and Norway Grants, and networks of civil society organizations. Daily tasks involve both the implementation of funded projects and text work that has real policy impact. This specialist position (i.e., Sector Officer for Fund for Social Dialogue and Decent Work) also includes a focus on the areas of social dialogue, decent work, and the dissemination of good practices between the beneficiary states of the EEA and Norway Grants. In this role, you will work in close cooperation with a diverse group of partners across the EEA. The goal is to build a strong financial system and promote good governance and responsible financial management, both within the office of the EEA and Norway Grants and with our partners. We are looking for a new Sector Officer-Civil Society, to join the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) in Brussels. About Us: The Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) - affiliated with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) - is the international secretariat carrying out the day-to-day management of the EEA and Norway Grants. The Grants are Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway’s contribution to reducing economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and strengthen bilateral relations and partnerships between the Donor States and the 15 Beneficiary States (Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia). The EEA Grants are financed by the three donor countries whereas Norway Grants are financed solely by Norway. The current funding period has a total budget of 3.2 billion euros.
