Site Manager, Aquaculture

Arnarlax is looking for a motivated and responsible Site Manager to lead the daily operations of one of the company’s sea farming sites in the southern Westfjords. The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site, including personnel, work planning, safety, fish welfare and operational performance. The Site Manager leads a team of fish farmers, plans and follows up on daily activities, and ensures that operations are carried out in accordance with Arnarlax procedures and requirements. This is both a management and hands-on operational role, and we are looking for someone who enjoys leading people, taking responsibility and being actively involved in daily operations at sea. Main tasks and responsibilities: - Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the sea farming site - Lead, support and follow up on the site team - Ensure that site operations comply with Arnarlax procedures, safety requirements and standards - Monitor fish welfare and the biological performance of the site - Plan and follow up on activities, staffing and equipment - Monitor site operations and budgets - Ensure accurate documentation, follow-up and reporting - Work closely with other Site Managers and Arnarlax support departments Education and qualification requirements: - Relevant education and/or experience applicable to the role is an advantage - Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team - Initiative, responsibility and ability to work independently - Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills - Ability to make decisions and adapt to changing circumstances - Good understanding of operations and an interest in aquaculture - Willingness to take an active part in the site’s daily operations, both at sea and on land - Good general computer skills Experience from aquaculture, fisheries or similar operations is an advantage.
