Sterilization Technician or Specialized Surgical Ward Staff

We are seeking a sterilization technician or specialized employee to work in the surgical wards at Landspítali at Hringbraut. The work schedule includes day shifts and evening shifts, as well as on-call duties on weekends. The employment percentage is 80-100%, and the position is available from October 1, 2026, or by agreement. At the surgical wards of Landspítali at Hringbraut, there are 11 operating rooms serving 7 specialties, with approximately 10,000 procedures performed annually. The department employs about 90 individuals; nurses, nursing assistants, sterilization technicians, administrative staff, and specialized personnel undertaking diverse and demanding tasks, performed in close collaboration with professionals in other specialties. Evidence-based knowledge, recognized procedures, patient safety, and teamwork are prioritized in both work units. Individualized training is offered according to each person's needs in an enjoyable workplace. The workweek for full-time employees is 36 hours. The goal is to promote better health and safety for staff and increase their opportunities to better integrate work and private life.
