Team Leader, Departmental Services

We are looking for a leader who wants to turn ideas into action and shape the development of departmental services as the Team Leader of Departmental Services at Landspítali. Changes in organization, development of new processes, and implementation of systems that simplify inventory management and make the service more efficient are ahead. Here you will have the opportunity to directly impact the hospital's daily operations and support clinical staff so they can focus on patient care. Departmental Services comprises about 20 employees and has grown rapidly. The team is responsible for inventory management, orders, and replenishment of operational supplies and linen in departments, as well as handling and replenishment of staff uniforms in the hospital's uniform distribution centers. All inpatient wards are already in service, and the next steps involve strengthening operations and bringing more departments into service. As Team Leader, you will lead both daily operations and the development of the service. You will report directly to the Head of Procurement Services and be part of the management team there, working closely with the warehouse, laundry, and logistics services. Development of Operations Departmental Services offers exciting opportunities for development, and you will play an important role in shaping the next steps. In consultation with the management team of Procurement Services, you will have the scope to bring your own ideas, develop organization and processes, and prioritize tasks based on the needs of the service. Potential projects could include, among other things, more automated inventory management, where orders for goods and linen are generated based on departmental needs, or increased traceability that provides better oversight of the supply chain. The development will be based on collaboration with the team, hospital departments, and other units of Procurement Services. Here you will follow ideas from analysis and design to implementation and see their impact on daily operations. We are looking for a leader who can bring people along and is interested in connecting people, processes, and technology to improve the service. All projects must support service at the new Landspítali (NLSH), alongside continued service at all current service locations. Therefore, solutions must be developed that benefit the overall operation and prepare the team for a changing work environment.
